Hello, my name is Rick Snider and my interest in photography began in 1984. I was a freelance photographer for twenty-five years shooting weddings on weekends. My daytime job during that time was a shop foreman at a fiberglass plant and later as a mold maker for large aquariums. In the year 2000 I started my business, Snider Studios Photography in El Cajon California. Two years later, my family and I moved to Temecula and we now live on a small ranch with dogs, cats, pigs, a goat and chickens and various other uninvited critters. I am married with three daughters.

I love what I do. Photography for me is more than just snapping a photograph. I feel like a historian recording moments in time for future generations to see. I like photography to be fun. There is no reason getting a portrait taken should be like going to the dentist! My wife Pam assists me on the large jobs as well as other photography assistants that work with me depending on the event.

I shoot 100% digital and stopped using film two years ago. The advantages of digital photography are numerous.

  • Instant previews. I use a 13” television when I shoot events and can instantaneously see the photograph and show the client the results for approval.
  • Digital retouching. I can remove blemishes, unwanted wrinkles and even unwanted people out of a photograph. I can open closed eyes, swap heads and fix a number of problems that in the past would have made the photo unusable.
  • High resolution. I use an 8.3 megapixel camera that allows high quality enlargements up to 30x40.
Digital medium. Most commercial photography now requires photographs to be in digital format for advertising. I can email the image to a client moments after taking the photograph.
